Meditation Techniques

Meditation techniques are easy to learn. Some emphasize controlled breathing while others emphasize passive breathing. Some emphasize concentrated focus on certain sounds or visual impressions. Others emphasize non-attachment to a constant witnessing of the mental process.

Some meditation techniques will work for you and others won't. If you try one form of mediation and you don't believe you're benefiting from it then try another.

Whatever you do, don't write off the process because it didn't work the first time, or think that your just not cut out for meditation. There's really nothing to fail at with meditation. It's all about finding the right technique for you.

Documented Benefits of Regular Meditation Practice

Meditation does not involve sitting in uncomfortable positions for hours without moving and believe it or not, you ARE capable of the level of effort you need to benefit from meditation.

Actually, meditation can be more accurately called relaxation - something we're all familiar with, no matter how rare or infrequent!

Most of us have probably dabbled in meditation by participating in conscious relaxation – perhaps during an exercise class or to manage pain at the dentist or control anxiety before a test.
