There are many ways to use an online weight loss journal.

  • List as many of the good choices you made today or this week as possible
  • Keep track of when it is you're most likely to overeat.
  • List an activity you engaged in that helps take off pounds sensibly
  • Describe what you will look like or feel like when you reach your ideal body weight.
  • Identify the ways in which the people around you are supportive or not.
  • List things you can do to help someone be supportive of you.
  • List the ways you are changing your daily routine and thinking patterns in a way that supports a new health based lifestyle.
  • Keep a food diary or a food journal: what you ate, what you didn't eat, what you would like to eat, what you no longer have cravings for.
  • These are just some examples of how an online weight loss journal can help you reinforce your decision to live a health based lifestyle.

    One of the easiest ways to maintain your commitment to a health based lifestyle is to set some time aside to sit down and track your progress.

    Don't let the idea of having to "write" get in the way. If you say things like "Well, I can't write so I don't want to do that," then you're missing the point. A free diet journal is not intended to be the next great American novel. If you can hear yourself say it, you can write it!

    Use this as a tool with which to reinforce your behavior over time so that your relationship to weight loss instead of weight gain becomes the norm.
