Effective Stress Management

Effective stress management requires three basic things:

1. Know Your Stressors

2. Re-evaluate Your Priorities

3. Practice Relaxation.

Know Your Stressors
The source of your stress may be obvious like a tough boss, a difficult job, unemployment, family/relationship conflict, money problems, health problems, etc. On the other hand, your stress may not be circumstantial, but rather self-generated. Get a journal or log book and identify your stressors. Ask your family or friends for their observations because sometimes we're blind to or in denial about things in life that stress us out.

Re-evaluate Your Priorities
Once you've identified your stressors, it's probably time to rearrange your priorities. Your number one priority should always be YOU! You can't take care of anyone else if you can't take care of yourself first. Making sure you have downtime, you-time, a chance to recharge and rejuvenate yourself will help you sustain you over the long term, and help you better enjoy the here and now.
