Speaking of Womens Health

When speaking of womens health, the mind/body connection is a growing topic of conversation. This purpose of this page is to create an awareness of the importance and incredible power you can have over your health when you embrace the role of the mind/body connection.

When speaking of womens health the mind’s connection to the body takes three basic forms: the way we think, the way we feel and the way we behave. Once we makes this awareness a conscious part of our lifestyles, we have a much better chance of success with both western medicine and alternative or holistic healthcare

Reworking unhealthy patterns in thinking. Womens health problems are the barometer of her values and thought patterns regarding particular state of health. Positive affirmations are an important part of creating a healthy sense of self in relationship to physical and mental health. If you’re lacking in motivation or a sense of self-entitlement regarding your health, you can use resources such as cognitive therapy with a local practitioner or affirmation goal setting motivational software to begin implementing a self help program at home.

Unlocking Emotional BlockagesWhen speaking of women’s health we have to consider the influence of unconscious emotions that color the options we think we have or don‘t have for being our best, most healthy selves. Sometimes emotions can cloud our thoughts and motivate our behaviors. It’s important for women to be aware of their emotional needs and processes around self-care. If you feel stuck, or powerless around your health, you may have some emotional needs to address before you can move forward.

Letting go of unwanted behaviors. Women have a tendency to put themselves last after everyone else is taken care of first. This is ironic given that if you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of anyone else? That’s why when you’re on an airplane for example, and the oxygen mask comes down, your supposed to breathe first and then make sure the person next to you is o.k. Behaviors central to women’s health are self-oriented behaviors. Sometimes it takes a bit of a radical shift in consciousness for women to embrace this fact. Other times, the lifestyles and family systems/structures women have create are dependent on her ability to put herself last, leaving her not much choice- at least as far as she can see.

A disease, illness or condition is an indicator or a flag that something bigger and more important than the symptom is out of balance. For women, that bigger picture mind/body connection ultimately resides in a healthy sense of self.
